Recruitment

Upstream studies project manager

Our company

Convinced that the ecological transition must include a means of public transport capable of competing with the car on travel time, Urbanloop develops, produces and supervises a 100% autonomous, electric transport solution. With no waiting or intermediate stops, Urbanloop revolutionizes individual mobility by offering a real alternative to the private car via a network of guided capsules on exclusive right-of-way.

Our offer is aimed at medium-sized towns, suburban areas, business parks, industrial, commercial and tourist zones, etc. Several local authorities have already entrusted us with the deployment of these solutions, notably Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and Nancy for the 2026 Games.

Joining us means joining a young, committed and close-knit team of thirty or so people who are working for tomorrow's transportation. It means joining a start-up recognized as one of the most promising in the field of mobility, winner of the FrenchTech 2030 program, and getting involved in shaping the life of the company.

The position and missions

As part of our growth (two projects already launched, a new site in Lyon), Urbanloop is recruiting a project manager for its new Lyon site, in charge of upstream studies. Your role will be to steer, direct and produce the preliminary studies that contribute to selling the solution to local authorities and companies:

  • Drafting of technical and economic pre-studies of potential projects (mapping, analysis of local players and needs, etc.).
  • Support and guidance for sales teams in identifying and defining new projects
  • Manage studies from the prospecting phase onwards, interacting with customers (companies, local authorities, etc.).
  • Interface with various departments within Urbanloop: Business development, Management, technical experts / R&D
  • Leading the production team for primary studies
  • Production of design elements (insertion, sizing, investment budget, operating possibilities, etc.)
  • Overall rendering guarantee and follow-up
  • Technical watch
  • Urbanloop's ambassador in the technical mobility ecosystem (associations, internship supervision, links with research, schools, etc.).

The studies you steer include a technical part linked to the integration - adaptation - of the transport system in the territorial ecosystem. They may also include questions of financing, flow estimates, prefiguration of possible operating conditions, etc.

Salary €40k to €50k negotiable depending on profile.

Profile and skills required

Our criteria for this position:

  • You have at least 3 years' initial professional experience in mobility, territorial strategy or urban planning (a spell with a growing start-up would be a plus).
  • You are used to working on the implementation of complex or innovative systems as part of projects led by private players and/or local authorities.
  • You enjoy working with customers: proactivity is one of your qualities and you're always ready to make suggestions.
  • You are autonomous in managing your day-to-day tasks and activities, and know how to find the right contacts for your specific issues.
  • You would like to join a dynamic team and participate in the deployment of innovative solutions.
  • You're curious, demanding and precise by nature, and you get to the bottom of things.
  • Your writing skills and the quality of your reports are proven (in French & English).
  • Ideally, you are familiar with a mapping tool (Autocad or equivalent).

With a higher education background, you may hold a degree in engineering, a master's in geography, urban planning or political science. Position based in Lyon, with regular travel throughout France.
